We are looking for someone who wants to develop themselves and their knowledge base within our company. The Accountant performs various accounting duties according to Martin Sullivan's policy and accounting theory. Accounting duties include routine and non-recurring calculations, reconciliations, verifications, and postings while ensuring accuracy and validity in the accounting processes. Duties include coordinating, preparing, and analyzing financial information and reports that provide summary information for management use in making dealership financial decisions.  The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting and 3 years of accounting experience.  CPA certification is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- ACCOUNTANT

 

  • Prepares various financial reports
  • Records routine or recurring transactions
  • Gathers, reviews, and analyzes statistical information
  • Reconciles various accounts which includes identifying discrepancies and determining corrective action
  • Makes necessary corrections and/or adjustments to receive accurate report information
  • Examines accounting information contained in reports and exhibits, traces and reconciles unusual variances
  • Performs account reconciliations
  • Communicates with others in the organization to answer accounting questions or resolve issues
  • Assists other co-workers

  

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPENTENCES:

  • Proven skills in written and verbal communication, planning and organizing.
  • High standard of ethical conduct and trust.
  • Very thorough and attentive to details.
  • Shows initiative and demonstrates effective time management. 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of general accounting systems
  • Familiar with business office practices, and procedures
  • CPA designation preferred

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: 

  • Must regularly talk, hear; sit for long periods of time along with walking, standing, climbing stairs, reaching, pushing pulling with hands; leaning twisting; use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
